Women’s Digital Imaging (WDI) utilizes the most advanced state-of-the-art technology to detect and diagnose conditions that affect women including breast and ovarian cancer and osteoporosis. Patients get results immediately following their exam and we tell them right away if further testing is necessary. When women need treatment, Dr. Weinstock counsels and guides them at each step. We are always considerate of our patients' time and comfort to alleviate anxiety.
We began in 2004 with state-of-the-art full field digital mammography that we continue to update. In May 2009 we added Breast Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI). BSGI is comparable to MRI in finding early cancers. It has fewer false positives and costs about one-third the price. It is more comfortable than MRI for patients, who remain seated during the exam and experience only minimal compression of the breast. We recommend BSGI to selected patients who have dense breasts, are in the high risk category and who find MRI uncomfortably claustrophobic.
