Report Calms Qualms About Caffeine
Researchers find no link between caffeine and breast cancer
WDI newsletter Winter 2009

RIDGEWOOD, New Jersey — Good news for the bleary eyed: researchers studying a sample group of over 39,000 women concluded that caffeine, even large amounts, does not increase breast cancer risk.

The report, published in the October 13 issue of the Archive of Internal Medicine, compared the caffeine consumption of women who developed breast cancer during the study to those who did not. The way caffeine was consumed (in coffee, tea, cola, or chocolate) also had no effect on risk.
